Season 2009/2010
No fewer than 10 premiere nights, several renewals and special events contribute to the third season under the directorate of Robert Meyer and his team.
The impressive series of opening nights this season will be inaugurated by Carl Zeller’s ‘The Bird Seller’, followed by ‘Chief Evening Breeze’ by Jacques Offenbach and Johann Nestroy.
The third operetta premiere, a debut performance of Paul Abraham’s exotic revue ‘The Flower of Hawaii’ at our theatre, leads our repertoire to the 30ies of the last century.
New productions of opera genre will cover works of four centuries: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s ‘The Abduction from the Seraglio’, Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Rigoletto’, Sergej Prokofjew's ‘The Love of the 3 Oranges’ and the world premiere of the pop-opera ‘Antonia and the Little Devil’ by Christian Kolonovits for young and old.
Our successful musical production ‘Guys & Dolls’ returns back mid of September. Another musical delight will be the concertante performance of Rodgers’ & Hammerstein’s ‘South Pacific’ with all-star cast.
The ballet programme will include a new production of ‘Carmen’ and a ballet gala evening at the end of season.
