Anne Salmon

Receiving a first prize after completing her studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, Anne Salmon was dancing at the ballet of Fondazione Arena di Verona and the Royal Ballet of Flanders, where she was soon appointed soloist. Under the direction of Pierre Lacotte she has been promoted to first soloist of the Ballet National de Nancy et de Lorraine. During that period, she was dancing leading roles in »Giselle«, »Marco Spada« and »L’Ombre« (Lacotte), »Prodigal Son«, »Night Shadow«, »The Four Temperaments«, »Serenade«, »Apollo«, »Theme and Variations«, »Episodes« (Balanchine), »Fall River Legend« (deMille), »Les Sylphides« (Fokine), »Noces de sang« (Gades), »The Moor’s Pavane« (Limón) and »Proust ou les intermittences du cœur« (Petit). After her appointment to ballet master, she worked for productions with the Bolshoi Ballet Moscow (»La Fille du Pharaon«, »Marco Spada«), Mariinsky Ballet St. Petersburg (»Ondine«), Shanghai Ballet (»Coppélia«), Tokyo Ballet (»La Fille du Danube«, »Petrushka«, »L’après-midi d’un faune«), Ballet of the Teatro alla Scala di Milano (»La Sylphide«), Ballet of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre Moscow and the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier (»La Vivandière«). For »La Source« by Jean-Guillaume Bart she was employed as an assistant at the l’Opéra national de Paris. Since 2006 Anne Salmon has been teaching ballet at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. For the Vienna State Ballet she re-staged Pierre Lacotte’s »Coppélia« at the Volksoper Vienna in 2019.
