No other house is better suited to the term cross-over than the Volksoper. Styles and genres meet in its repertoire—sometimes blending together, sometimes set in contrast to one another. Pianist, composer, violinist, and conductor Béla Fischer has made the interplay of different musical styles his life’s work, creating an astonishing body of work over the past 50 years.
