Ever since Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks (1970)—and in fact long before—the British sense of humor has been renowned for its distinctive charm. It captivates through dry irony, affectionate understatement, and the art of teasing the absurd out of the everyday. It is also unafraid of being irreverent and dirty at times. Within the genealogy of this humorous tradition work SPYMONKEY, who are returning to the Volksoper for the second time with their production of The Pirates of Penzance. Reason enough to sit down with them over a cup of tea and talk about their work and the cool sharpness of British humor.

The evening will be conducted largely in English.
