At 93 years of age, Vera Szekeres-Varsa still speaks about the Shoah with undiminished strength. Her voice grows louder, her fist clenches, her eyes flash, and again and again she repeats: “Resist the beginnings!” She tells her story so that it will not be forgotten. In conversation with her grandnephew, the journalist Dávid Gajdos, personal remembrance meets the music of her Jewish heritage. Yiddish songs and melodies become a voice of memory, loss, and hope.
