Short Introduction Der Krieg der Knöpfe

Director Johanna Arrouas: „Bonjour! ‘La guerre des boutons’ ‘Der Krieg der Knöpfe’ This story is originally a book written by Louis Pergaud and was published over 100 years ago. Our story on stage also takes place 100 years ago in France in a small village called Longeverne. The children of Longeverne are in constant conflict with the children from the neighboring village of Velrans. Why? No one knows exactly ... but they meet regularly in the forest to fight. In the process, of course, much clothing is torn and buttons are stolen. Meanwhile, life in the village of Longeverne goes on as usual. We have the landlady, the teacher, the farmer, and musicians, both male and female. Our musical director Helmut Stippich plays French chansons on the accordion, which he has arranged and which convey this typically French feeling of life. 'Aux Champs-Élysées ...' The children of the children's choir play, sing, and dance. After all, despite all the conflicts, it is a story about friendship, solidarity, and reconciliation ... and about values. Values such as freedom, equality, and brotherhood.“
