Tomoaki Nakanome

Tomoaki Nakanome was born in Tokyo and received his training at the Hamburg Ballet School. In 2008 he won the 1st prize at the 18th All Japan Ballet Competition. He danced in the ensembles of the Dortmund Ballet, the Kiel Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet and the Ballet of the Theater Hagen. From 2015 to 2020 he was a member of the Ballett am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg. His repertoire includes numerous roles in works by George Balanchine, Martin Chaix, Nils Christe, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Martin Schläpfer, Uwe Scholz and Remus Şucheană. Since the 2020/21 season Tomoaki Nakanome has been a demi-soloist with the Vienna State Ballet.His Viennese repertoire comprises George Balanchine's »Jewels« and »Symphony in C«, John Cranko's »Onegin«, Frederick Ashton's »La Fille mal gardée«, Rudolf Nureyev's »Swan Lake« and »Don Quixote«, Jerome Robbins' »Glass Pieces«, Hans van Manen's »Four Schumann Pieces«, Heinz Spoerliʼs »Goldberg Variations«, Pierre Lacotteʼs »Coppélia« as well as Martin Schläpfer's »4«, »Ein Deutsches Requiem«, »Marsch, Walzer, Polka«, »The Seasons« and »The Sleeping Beauty«.
