Gaia Fredianelli

The Italian Gaia Fredianelli received her training at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera with teachers such as Christiana Stefanou, Karen Henry, Callum Hastie, Caterina Mantovani and Galina Skuratova. She participated in various international workshops, including at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater with Michael Leon Thomas, the Russian Masters Ballet Camp in Alicante and at the Opéra national de Paris. After graduating, Gaia Fredianelli was a member of the Vienna State Opera’s Junior Company from 2019 to 2021 and has performed already several times on stage of the Vienna State Opera, among others in George Balanchine’s »Jewels« and in Johann Strauß’ operetta »Die Fledermaus«. She reached the 1st place at the Como Lake Dance Award 2018 and was one of the finalists of the Youth America Grand Prix in New York 2017.
Since the 2021/22 season Gaia Fredianelli has been a member of the Vienna State Ballet. In the 2023/24 season, she was appointed demi-soloist. She danced in Martin Schläpfer's »The Sleeping Beauty« the fairy Canari qui chante as well as roles in his »4«, »Marsch, Walzer, Polka«, »In Sonne verwandelt« and »Die Jahreszeiten«, Olympia in John Neumeierʼs »Lady of the Camellias«, Giselle's friend in Elena Tschernischova's »Giselle«, Lise's friend in Frederick Ashton's »La Fille mal gardée«, Swanildaʼs friend and the night in Pierre Lacotteʼs »Coppélia« and First bridesmaid in Nureyev’s »Don Quixote«. Furthermore, she appeared in George Balanchine's »Symphony in Three Movements« and »Symphony in C«, Lucinda Childs' »Concerto«, John Cranko's »Onegin«, Rudolf Nureyev's »Swan Lake«, Jerome Robbins' »Glass Pieces« and Heinz Spoerliʼs »Goldberg-Variationen«.
