Nina Cagnin

The French Nina Cagnin received her first ballet lessons already at the age of four at her mother’s ballet school. From 2016 to 2022 she completed her education at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera and as a member of the Youth Company of the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy for one season. Among the ballet masters she has worked with are Jan Broeckx, Johnny Eliasen and Thierry Sette. She also attended workshops of the ballet school of the Paris Opera, the Princess Grace Academy in Monte-Carlo and the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung in Munich. Furthermore, Nina Cagnin took part in numerous ballet competitions and won the 1st prize at the Chausson d’Or in Paris and the »Sonia Rykiel Special Prize« in 2015 as well as 1st prizes at the European Ballet Grand Prix (EBGP) and 2nd prizes at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) in Paris.
Her previous stage experiences include performances in the Matinees of the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera – among others, Grand Adage from Raymonda (after Marius Petipa & Konstantin Sergeyev) in 2022 and Martin Schläpfer’s Jamie in 2023 – as well as in productions of the Vienna State Ballet, such as Chicken in Frederick Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée and further roles in Rudolf Nureyev’s Swan Lake, Elena Tchernichova’s Giselle and George Balanchine’s Symphony in C. Since the 2023/24 season Nina Cagnin has been a member of the Corps de ballet of the Vienna State Ballet. She danced among others in Lotte de Beerʼs & Andrey Kaydanovskiyʼs »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker«.
