Laura Fernandez Gromova

Laura Fernandez Gromova was born in Switzerland and is half Ukrainian, half Spanish. She initially studied at the Zurich Dance Academy. After winning several prizes at the Prix de Lausanne, she continued her studies at the renowned Vaganova Ballet Academy of the Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg. From 2016 to 2019, she was the first Swiss dancer to be engaged by the Mariinsky Theatre Ballet. She then danced as a principal dancer at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre. In 2022, she moved to the State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tbilisi as a principal dancer.

Her repertoire includes leading roles in the great classical ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, La Bayadère and Le Corsaire as well as works by George Balanchine, Michel Fokine, Jiří Kylián, Serge Lifar, Alexei Ratmansky und Konstantin Sergeyev, among others.

Laura Fernandez Gromova will join the Vienna State Ballet as a principal dancer for the 2025/26 season.
