Laurids Seidel
Laurids Seidel was born in Vienna. He began his training in 2013 at the Academy for Ballet and Dance under the direction of Ekaterina Christou-Lewin ARAD RTS Dipl. PDTD, RAD® London, a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance®. From 2021 to 2024, he continued his studies at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera with Vladimir Shishov and Lucian Necsea, among others. He further enriched his training through summer courses at the Royal Ballet School and the English National Ballet School in London, as well as at ImPulsTanz in Vienna and with Robert Hewitt in Graz.
At the Vienna State Opera, he performed in productions of the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera, dancing the leading role of Solor in La Bayadère and Gurn in La Sylphide. He also appeared with the Vienna State Ballet in Rudolf Nureyev’s Swan Lake and danced the solo role of Astyanax in the opera Les Troyens, directed by David McVicar with choreography by Lynne Page.
For the 2024/25 season, he was engaged by the Ballet of Slovak National Theatre. There he performed in Rudolf Nureyev’s Swan Lake, Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon, John Crankoʼs Onegin, Frederick Ashtonʼs La Fille mal gardée, Shahar Biniyaminiʼs Bolero and Ballet & SL'UK.
Starting with the 2025/26 season, Laurids Seidel will join the corps de ballet of the Vienna State Ballet.
