Alessandro Frola

The Italian Alessandro Frola received his training at Professione Danza Parma, at Fomento Artístico Cordobés in Córdoba, Veracruz (Mexico) and at the Ballet School of the Hamburg Ballet. He joined the Hamburg Ballet in 2019 and was promoted to Soloist in 2022 and to Principal Dancer in 2023. As a Guest Soloist, he has appeared at ballet galas in Mexico, Slovenia, Italy, Singapore and Chile. He has received numerous awards, including the Flaiano Award in 2015 for his interpretation in the musical Billy Elliot, the Dr. Wilhelm Oberdörffer Prize in 2023, and first prize at the International Ballet Competition “Anna Pavlova.”

His repertoire includes numerous ballets by John Neumeier, among them role creations in The Glass Menagerie, Ghost Light, Beethoven Project II, Dona Nobis Pacem, Peter and Igor and Epilogue. In addition, he has danced in works by William Forsythe, Cathy Marston, Justin Peck, Hans van Manen, Demis Volpi, and Christopher Wheeldon.

Starting with the 2025/26 season, Alessandro Frola will join the Vienna State Ballet as a Principal Dancer.
