Victor Caixeta
The Brazilian Victor Caixeta started his ballet training in the social project "Pé de Moleque". Over the next few years, his teacher prepared him for various ballet competitions. When he participated in the Prix de Lausanne at the age of fifteen, eighteen prestigious schools offered him a scholarship. He opted for the State Ballet School Berlin, from which he graduated in 2017. He then joined the Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and was promoted to Soloist in 2019. Due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, he left the company in March 2022 and joined Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam as a Soloist in the same year, where he was appointed Principal Dancer. Additionally, he has danced as a guest at the Teatro dellʼOpera di Roma, Tokyo Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet and at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Victor Caixeta will join the Vienna State Ballet as a Principal Dancer for the 2025/26 season.
His repertoire includes leading roles in the great classical ballets such as La Bayadère, Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, Raymonda, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire and The Nutcracker as well as works by George Balanchine such as Jewels, Symphony in C, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Four Temperaments, Victor Gsovsky’s Grand Pas Classique an Uwe Scholz’ Sonata. He has also worked with renowned choreographers such as Alexei Ratmanskv, Twvla Tharp, Sir Wayne McGregor, Hans van Manen, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Jean-Christophe Maillot and Eric Gauthier.
In 2017, he received the 1st Prize and the Jury Award at the European Ballet Grand Prix, the 1st Prize at Tanzolymp Berlin and the 3rd Prize at the Moscow International Ballet Competition. In 2015, he was finalist of the Youth American Grand Prix New York.
